Dear Members,

It is already time again to have our Annual Membership Meeting.  On Monday, April 22nd, we will host a meal catered by Big Smith's BBQ at the Alba-Golden ISD Cafetorium.  The meal will be served at 6 PM and our annual business meeting will follow at 7 PM with door prizes.  We ask that you call the office to RSVP by Wednesday, April 17th.

The candidates for director positions are unopposed this year.  With the passing of a resolution stating that no election is needed, the directors will be Deborah Perry and Rodney Patrick.  I would like to thank these members for volunteering their time and expertise.

Two items I would like to highlight in this letter are knowing where your valves are and the importance of keeping your contact information up-to-date.

I guess these hard freezes are going to become more of a normal event each year.  It is important to know where a valve is to control the plumbing in your home in case you have a leak.  The valve that is located inside the meter box is for our use only.  If you do not have a valve on your side of the meter, please have one installed.  If you are unsure about what you have, we can help to let you know.  We can show you what is there.

We have also begun using an automated calling system for our notification calls.  We call and notify members when we have planned events that could disrupt service.  It is important for us to have updated phone numbers for everyone for times like these.  Many folk have got rid of home landline phones and only use cell phones and we do not have the correct number to call any longer.  This leads to confusion when they are at home with no water, and they find out it was planned, and they were not notified.
